Times are tough and there are many brides who are starting to become savvy with their wedding shopping. I had a friend come to me this morning who knew of someone with an upcoming wedding who needed a wedding dress for under $500. She had been turned away from bridal shops informing her that her budget was too small and they were not willing to work with her. This actually aggravates me to some extent. Instead of shooing someone away how about letting them know of their options? Maybe in the future, based on how kind and helpful you were, she actually might refer you to her friends and family for their own wedding. So even though this shoppe owner did not make money off of this specific bride, they might make double the money off of referrals.

Any way, I did a quick search on the infamous Craigslist and found an entire page of couture and designer dresses locally for under $500!!!! There is one dress that is just GORGEOUS and is only $275!!! Sometimes, especially during these tough times in the economy, you have to become creative and savvy in your wedding planning. I have had brides who have set their dates for after holidays because of the STEEP discount they get on decor and I have had other brides who have searched the online classifieds for dresses that were 75% off the regular price and no one knew the difference.

So if you can, search Craigslist, google it, and bargain hunt like crazy!! No shame to saving some extra money!!

Congrats Sharon & Larry!!

I first met and photographed these two lovebirds back in November for their beautiful beach wedding and now they are welcoming a healthy baby boy in mid October. They have kept the name of the baby a surprise and I cannot wait to hear what they chose. Sharon & Larry will be visiting our studio in September for a maternity session and then shortly after a newborn session in our new studio so we are super excited! Congratulations again on the new parents!

Congrats Sarah & John!!

Sarah and John were clients of mine back in March of 2009. They were such a great couple that had this fabulous magazine inspired country wedding at a family estate in Odessa. It was just breath taking! I have recently found out that Sarah is 5 months pregnant and I couldn’t be happier for them!

I am so grateful to have fabulous clients and feel privileged to now call them friends. Congrats you two.

For many of you facebook fans, you already know that we have moved to a larger home in Naples. We are so blessed to be able to grow at this pace within these tough economic times. What started once as a crazy idea on the back of my parents porch with nothing but a dream and a camera turned quickly into an award winning, successful, business! And now to add to that blessed success is a move to a gorgeous lakeside villa in Naples. Twice the size of our old place which means we are now designing a custom designed office for client meetings {Yes…no more Starbucks rendezvous} and a Studio equipped with backdrops and props.

I of course will be posting pics and would be CRAZY not to. I cannot wait to share the photos with you!!!! So thank you to all of my past and current clients for making this possible…I love you all and feel privileged that a large majority of you still keep in contact with me! YAY!

For now….I must go and slap some paint on a few walls…nothing spells fun like paint splatter.
